Sign-up now for Riverfront Golf Cart Tours September 4
Senior citizens can participate in guided riverfront golf cart tours on Thursday, September 4.
The tours will utilize existing riverfront trails and offer participants an opportunity to see and hear all that the riverfront has to offer from the front seat of a golf cart. This is a great opportunity to gain some knowledge on the past, present and future of many of our riverfront amenities in the Quad Cities.
There are five different tours from which to choose. All tours are $12.50 per person and last two hours. Tour times for each of the tours are 9 a.m.-11 a.m., 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Tours fill up fast and carts are limited, so don’t delay.
- Tour #1 – Tour the Davenport riverfront, starting at Credit Island and traveling to Leach Park and back. We will stop at RiverWay projects, as well as other exciting ports of call.
- Tour #2 – This is the Arsenal Island tour and starts near the Col. Davenport House. Tour the riverfront trail to the Visitor’s Center and the Corps/River Action green parking lot.

Introducing QC RiverWay Audio Tours
The first cell phone based audio tour in the region

Many museum and walking tours in larger cities have embraced the cell based tour. Technology what it is you’d be hard-pressed to find pedestrians and cyclists on the trails who don’t carry a phone with them. The RiverWay Audio Tour is poised to capture the attention of Quad Citians and tourists with unique narrations that describe the area's role in national river history.
Currently there are two tours in place: "Bridge to Bridge" has stops on Arsenal Island, Davenport, and Rock Island in between the Government & Centennial Bridges, and the "Illinois Mississippi River Trail" has stops from the Sylvan Natural Area in Rock Island to Ben Butterworth Parkway in Moline. River Action plans to expand the available RiverWay Audio tours in the months to come with additional tours on both sides of the river.
